Monavie Scam or The Real Deal? That is the question!
Everytime someone looks at any home business opportunity the question that comes to the front of their mind is, is this a scam? It’s very important to do your due diligence, get to know a bit about the company you are going to join and find some information that is NOT given out by the company or its loyal distributors. While they do tend to display a lot of passion for the products and company, you have to wonder if the claims that some of the MonaVie distributors bandy about are real, or just them trying to sell their products. So let’s look at this question: Monavie scam or not?
First off, what exactly constitutes a scam? According to Dictionary.com a scam is
“A dishonest scheme, or a fraud”
Monavie Scam? – The Claims
This would mean that to be a scam Monavie would have to be making fraudulent claims or somehow swindling their customers and distributors. Now, it’s important to note that while all network marketing companies have very strict policies on what their distributors say or claim about the products they can never have complete control over every individual. It is up to them to make sure their distributors are not putting out false claims and terminating any distributors who are. So we have to look only at what the company is claiming.
They have a lot of claims about their juices supporting a healthy body, helping to increase “joint, heart and immune system.” As their juices use acai berry as a key ingredient, this is no doubt true. Independent research has proven that acai is a superfood. The debate comes in when we ask, how is this juice better than the average acai drink you can get at the local health shop? MonaVie itself really does not engage in this debate, so does not make any claims to being better. They do discuss the science behind their health drinks and have resources to their independent studies on their website. So we have to assume the basic claims of “supporting” health are true and verified.
Monavie Scam? – The Opportunity
Now there are a few golden rules to consider when investigating a home business to see if it’s potentially a scam.
1. Is product purchase REQUIRED to make money? A MonaVie scam would not allow you to EVER earn money without having purchased products yourself.
-You don’t HAVE to purchase products yourself to make money with MonaVie, but in order to qualify and stay qualified to earn money it is easiest to be on an autoshipment. They do this through points-values. You can either be on an autoshipment and earn points for yourself, or you have to qualify by getting several customers ordering from you. Most distributors do go on the autoship so they can easily qualify and stay qualified, and also as that way they are using the products themselves and can sample them to potential customers.
2. Do you make money off of just enrolling others? For there to be a MonaVie scam people would earn money directly from the initial fee to become a distributor.
-There is no income for simply enrolling someone in MonaVie. You do get a bonus percentage on your new distributor or customer’s first order, however they do have to place an order for PRODUCTS for you to make any money.
3. Is there a readily available Income Disclosure Statement? A MonaVie Scam would have no income disclosure available.
-MonaVie’s income disclosure did not have a link on their front webpage, but it was easy to find through their site-map. Their distribution is typical as about 70% of their distributors are on the bottom rank earning very little. The interesting thing about their disclosure is it also includes average hours worked per week for each level. The bottom rank of distributors only work 2 hours a week. The income disclosure HAS to be there for a company to be covered legally, but I typically don’t worry too much about it as statistically 95% of network marketers fail because they treat their business like a hobby, not a business, and they don’t tend to put in consistent steady work until they achieve success.
Monavie Scam? – What They’re Not Telling Us
Monavie make it sound like it is incredibly easy to make BIG money using their opportunity and compensation plan. It’s important to note that the health juice home business market is a little crowded, and it can be hard to make your product stand out against the others without it degenerating to a “my juice is better than yours” debate. Monavie advocates simply getting people to try the juice, they will fall in love and want to sell it themselves, but in this day and age that tactic is simply outdated.
It is also clear that in order to be a success in this business, or indeed any business you will need to put in some work and many marketers run out of cashflow for their business as they invest in poor advertising, or they simply don’t know how to market and never can get enough leads and potential customers to make a go of it.
So MonaVie Scam? No, it’s definitely a legitimate company, but if you want to actually succeed in MonaVie or any home business you have to know how to market and leverage yourself by getting good training before you waste your time and resources on bad or outdated marketing techniques.
